NVIDIA will officially launch the new GeForce GTX 480 and 470 graphics cards based on Fermi architecture on 26th March. But VR-Zone has already posted detailed specifications and pricing for both the graphics cards.

The top-of-the-line GeForce GTX 480 will feature 480 CUDA cores, and offer 700Mhz core clock speed, 1401MHz shader clock speed and 1848MHz memory clock speed. The 1536MB RAM on the card will have 384-bit memory interface. GTX 480 will have TDP of 250W and it will be priced $499.

The second Fermi based card GeForce GTX 470 will have 448 CUDA cores and offer 607MHz core clock speed, 1215MHz shader clock speed and 1674MHz memory clock speed. It will have 320-bit memory interface for 1280MB RAM. GTX 470 will have TDP of 225W and it will be priced $349.

NVIDIA’s GTX 480 and 470 cards will compete with ATI’s HD 5850 and 5870 cards on the market. And internal benchmarking done by NVIDIA show that Geforce GTX 470 will offer 5-10 percent faster performance than Radeon HD 5850 and GTX 480 will also offer about 10 percent faster performance than HD 5870. We should find out more about both the cards when they are launched by NVIDIA on March 26.
