Dow Jones Newswires has joined the list of news sources pointing towards imminent launch of touchscreen notebook from Apple. Two people close to the situation told Dow Jones that Apple is planning to launch a netbook computer with a touchscreen monitor as early as the second half of this year.

One person, who declined to be named, said mini laptop from Apple would likely have screen size between 9.7-inch to 10-inch. This information wasn’t revealed yesterday, when DigiTimes reported that Wintek is working with Apple for development of touch panels that will be used in Apple’s new netbook and Quanta will manufacture the netbook.  Dow Jones Newswires also confirmed DigiTimes’ report.

Like we said yesterday, Apple is definitely working on a device that will bridge the gap between iPhone and MacBooks, but what it will be, how it will work is everyone’s guess.
