CES 2012: LG’s Smart TVs with CINEMA SCREEN Design Featuring 1mm BezelSubmitted by lalit on January 10, 2012 - 10:52am.
LG’s main focus for TVs at this year’s CES is on CINEMA SCREEN Design, which is featured in some of the new CINEMA 3D Smart TVs for 2012. According to LG, CINEMA SCREEN Design reduces the bezel to as little as 1mm, creating a more optimal environment for immersive 3D viewing. This new CINEMA SCREEN design philosophy was led by the 55-inch 3D OLED TV, the 84-inch 3D Ultra Definition TV and the new LG LED 9000 Series Cinema 3D Smart TVs. The Next Generation 3D OLED TV: According to LG, what sets LG’s TV picture apart from other OLED TVs is its 4-Color Pixels and Color Refiner which work together to generate natural and accurate colors that are sharp and consistent. The 4-Color Pixels feature allows for more accurate color depiction by using a set of four colors (red, green blue and white) in comparison to the RGB setup used by conventional OLED TVs. Boasting an infinite contrast ratio, LG’s OLED TV exhibits vivid colors and the smallest details. In turn, colors and details throughout an entire image are preserved with utmost clarity and sharpness, even when displaying scenes with dark lighting. Such color capabilities are technically impossible with LED and LCD display panels. And at around 1,000 times faster than LED/LCD displays, LG’s OLED TVs are capable of showing crystal clear motion. LG 3D Ultra Definition TV: LG’s 3D UD TV boasts superb picture quality on an expansive 84-inch class (84.04 inch diagonal) display panel. With 8 million pixels and four times the resolution clarity (3840x2160) of existing Full HD TV panels, the 3D UD TV provides the most convincing 3D viewing experience currently available outside of a movie theater. Meanwhile, 3D Depth Control allows greater comfort, as users can customize their viewing experience by controlling the 3D effect. LG says that both 55-inch OLED TV and 84-inch 3D UD TV will come to the market in second half of this year at a more affordable price, which would mean that they will be priced between $5,000 to $10,000 range rather than $15,000 and above range. Check out the introductory video of 55-inch OLED TV that LG has posted. The OLED TV is really impressive.
