At CES in Las Vegas, LG showcased two 4G LTE smartphones that will come to Verizon and MetroPCS in coming months. LG Spectrum: It is the first smartphone for Verizon Wireless to feature a 4.5-inch True HD in-Plane Switching (IPS) LCD display, which LG claims is the first “True HD technology” for smartphones (720p) with Real-Stripe RGB pixels for sharp picture and accurate true-to-life color rendering. Other features of the handset are Qualcomm 1.5GHz dual core processor, Android 2.3, 4G LTE, 8-megapixel camera, 1.3-megapixel front camera, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, Dolby Digital Plus output and microSD card slot with 16GB card pre-installed. LG Connect 4G: It features 4-inch NOVA display with 1.2GHz dual-core processor, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and 4G LTE support. The smartphone also has a 5-megapixel front camera, VGA front camera, 720p video recording, WiFi, Bluetooth and microSD card slot. The Connect 4G features Dolby Mobile that gives rich, premium sound experience right out of the box for movies, videos and music, whether media is downloaded or streamed via the pre-loaded MetroSTUDIO or Rhapsody Unlimited Music service. LG Spectrum will be available on January 19 in Verizon Stores priced $199.99 with two-year contract. LG connect 4G will be available in MetroPCS stores within the next month. Check out the True HD IPS display video posted by LG on YouTube below. LG claims that most other smartphone makers say that they have 720p HD display, but they are cheating.
